Respected Ulema

I have 1 question. Am i allowed to give my mother sadaqah in the form of bread and milk? I am giving it to my mum with the intention that my sister and her children consume it because my sister and her children frequently eat at my mums house.

Answer

Muhtaram / Muhtaramah ,

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

1. If by the term Sadaqah you refer to optional (Nafl) charity, then it is permissible to give your mother the bread and milk. However, if you intend Zakaat, then it will not be permissible to give the milk and bread to her even though your sister or her children frequent her house.
