Can I read my NAMAAZ  especially ASAR NAMAAZ  behind a SHAFI IMAM

Question

I am from the HANAFI MAZHAB can I read my NAMAAZ  especially ASAR NAMAAZ  behind a SHAFI IMAM at the time of ASAR NAMAAZ  FOR  THE PEOPLE OF THE  SHAFI MAZHAB on a regular basis .

Answer

Muhtaram / Muhtaramah

In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāh wa-barakātuh.

It is not appropriate for a Hanafi to perform Asr Salāh behind a Shafi Imām in the Shāfi Asr time on a regular basis.
If there is another Musjid in your locality which performs Asr Salaah in the Hanafi Asr time, you should perform Asr Salāh at that Musjid. Otherwise, it will be preferable for you to delay the Asr Salāh till the Hanafi Asr time has set in even though it will mean performing Salāh individually.
