Question

Please make me maaf but unfortunately i am currently experiencing an unnatural habit of bleeding. I have done all that I can to find a solution to my problem but as per the doctors findings I am just hormonally imbalanced and the problem will rectify itself with time. Hereunder follows my habit for the past two years.

PLEASE NOTE THAT I WAS MISTAKEN OF MY CURRENT IMPURE TIME WHICH I PREVIOUSLY SAID WAS SUPPOSED TO START LAST WEEK. AFTER CHECKING PROPERLY IT STARTS TONIGHT AT 11H00.

My normal period is 7 days with 21 days of purity in between.

I fell pregnant in Dec 2005. No bleeding occured during the pregnancy.

I gave birth on the 18th September 2006 and bled for exactly 39 days until the 27th October 2006.

My child passed away on the 29th October and because of the stop in breastfeeding i bled again from the 30th October to the 4th November. I regarded this as Istihaaza.

My next period came from the 17th Novemeber until the 23rd November. This I considered as an impure period.

My period came regularly for the rest of the time of which my last period before falling pregnant was the 27th Jan to the 3rd of Februaury.

From February 2007 to the 16th October I was pregnant.

BEFORE CONTINUING PLEASE NOTE THAT FROM THE 16/10/2008 UNTIL THE 22/01/2008 I HAVE BEEN BLEEDING CONTINUOUSLY.

My nifaas of 40 days lasted from the 16/10/2007 to 25/11/2007.

From 25/11/2007 to 10/12/2007 I regarded as clean days even though I was still bleeding (Istihaaza)

10/12/2007 to 20/12/2007 was considered impure period.

20/12/2007 to the 04/01/2008 was considered a clean state (Istihaaza)

04/01/2008 to 14/01/2008 was considered an impure state.

After this impure state my next impure state would have started from 29/01/2008 but on the 22/01/2008 I stopped bleeding and stayed clean until the 29/01/2008. On the 29/01/2008 I noticed some light brown discharge.

Please advise on what state I find myself in now and what to do if irregular bleeding starts that is for example if I bleed for a day and the next day or two I am clean.

Answer

Muhtaram / Muhtaramah

In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāh wa-barakātuh.

We have studied your query and the dates of your menstruation cycle you have provided.  In the past your normal menstruation cycle was 7 days of period and 21 days of purity until the birth of your second pregnancy.  After experiencing the bleeding of childbirth, your bleeding continued without pausing.

The brown discharge on the 29th of January, 2008 will be regarded as hayd if it continues for at least three days or more.  This is based on your recent cycle of 15 days of purity and 10 days of menstruation.
