I have a condition that I need to take a high dose of oral steriods
Question
Mufti Sahib, I have a condition that I need to take a high dose of oral steriods, the effect of this steriod is that my monthly cycle could be missed ( no bleeding ) or very very light bleeding ( spotting ).
My period last month was fine, however 28 days later ( expecting my this month period ) I only had very light spotting for 2 days and that was it, the rest of my period had stopped, I have not bled anymore. Mufti Sahib, I am in the days of my monthly cycle I am getting all the symptoms of my period except the bleeding.
1) Am I meant to pray Salaah in this condition?
2) After the 2 days should I have made ghusl?
3) Do I need to make qadha for the Salaah that I missed after the 2 days of bleeding? ( if i am meant to make qadha how do i perfom this? )
Mufti Sahib, is there anything in the Sunnah to help with hairloss ( alpoecia )? any particular oils or foods?

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāh wa-barakātuh.

It is apparent from your condition that the steroid medicine has affected your menstruation cycle and has changed your habit. In Shari’a, the minimum number of days for menstruation is three days. Anything under three days will not be considered as menstruation, but will be Istihada. The symptoms of menstruation besides bleeding will not be taken into consideration.

Al-Fatawa al-Hindiyya (1/36) Maktaba Rashidiyya
( قوله : وأقله ثلاثة أيام وأكثره عشرة )…( قوله : فما نقص من ذلك أو زاد استحاضة ) أي ما نقص من الأقل أو زاد على الأكثر فهو استحاضة ؛ لأن هذا الدم إما أن يكون دم حيض أو نفاس أو استحاضة فانتفى الأولان فتعين الثالث ولأن تقدير الشرع يمنع إلحاق غيره به (البحر الرائق)
ويتوقف كونه حيضا على أمور : ( منها ) النصاب أقل الحيض ثلاثة أيام وثلاث ليال في ظاهر الرواية . هكذا في التبيين وأكثره عشرة أيام ولياليها . كذا في الخلاصة …( الفصل الثالث في الاستحاضة ) لو رأت الدم بعد أكثر الحيض والنفاس في أقل مدة الطهر فما رأت بعد الأكثر إن كانت مبتدأة وبعد العادة إن كانت معتادة استحاضة وكذا ما نقص عن أقل الحيض وكذا ما رأته الكبيرة جدا والصغيرة جدا . هكذا في المحيط . Due to the spotting of two days being Istihada, Salat missed in these days will be qada. It is compulsory to make up for these missed prayers. You do no have to take a bath to perform your prayers. The method of making up the prayers will be similar to making up any other missed prayers.
