Can we use this building for SALATS
Question
Muhtaram Mufti sb,Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
Muhtaram,we are located in NY and the masjid has baught an adjacent property ( which was on sale last year).The distance from the main hall of the masjid to the new building is approximately 180 yards. Question is ,1: can we use this building for SALATS (regular prayers) as the number of Musallees many times accedes the limit inside the main hall.
2) Can we use this building as sisters prayer area on regular basis, which will give us more space for men to pray inside the main hall( currently 1/3 of the masjid is being used as sister’s prayer area ).

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāh wa-barakātuh.
We suggest that the main hall be reserved for the males and the new adjacent property be used for the females. This will also avoid intermingling between the males and females. However, it should be borne in mind that the women would not be allowed to join the Jamaat from the adjacent building.
