Question
I have a distant family member that recently got married. The boy and girl come from a very very poor background. They currently have very little finance to start there life, let alone purchase necessary things for the home.
My question is as follows:
I have some interest money, which I would like to get rid off. Can I, without the intention of getting any reward, take this money and purchase some household furniture for him without him knowing and place it into his home?
Answer
Muhtaram / Muhtaramah
In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāh wa-barakātuh.
Yes, it is permissible for you to do so, provided he is eligible to receive zakaat.
And Allah knows best
