Question
I am basically from Hyderabad and I work in a different city in Bangalore, INDIA and we eat our daily food in different hotels in Bangalore… Among such Hotels, there is 1 hotel by name GRAND near Bilal Masjid EIDGAH ,Banerghatta Road which is owned by Muslims from Kerala. So we normally go there for eating Non Veg from this hotel.
The Owner of this hotel also holds a Super Market by name GRAND MARKET and it has all the home needs items etc… But, recently I found that he also sells CONDOMS in his Super Market which shows that he is encouraging people to do ZINA… Isnt it a very Big Sin ? Moreover We have 90% muslims in our locality that means that he is encouraging Muslims youngsters to do SINFUL activities.
With regards to this, I started feeling that I should not eat from his Hotel.
Moreover, a person who encourages Zina,What might be the assurance that he purchases Halaal Meat for his Hotel ? Even if the meat is Halaal, Is it permitted to Eat from his Hotel owing to the fact about sale of Condoms?
Please answer this as soon as possible before Ramzan because we used to have food from his hotel for Sehri throughout the Last Ramzan…. Can we continue to eat from his Hotel inspite of knowing that he sells materials in his supermarket that can be used for doing Sins?
Please advise, If any action can be taken against him in Shariah like protesting and making people aware to avoid visiting his Hotel and the Supermarket. This is again like we may be effecting his Bread and Butter.
Please advise in detail…
Answer
Muhtaram / Muhtaramah
In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāh wa-barakātuh.
These are situations in Shariah which allow the use of condoms. As such, the selling of condoms and its income will not be haraam. It is another issue that people may use condom to do zina. In that case, the owner will not be responsible.
And Allah knows best
