Question:
Assalamualaykum.
We normally give our non muslim workers breakfast and lunch throughout the year.
The do not fast during the month of Ramadhan, can we still give them their meals during the daytime??
Answer:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum Wa-Rahmatullāhi Wa-Barakātuh.
It is permissible to give food to non-Muslims workers during the daytime in Ramadhan.[1] However, out of respect for the sanctity of the hours of fasting, it should be done in a discreet manner whereby the Muslim employer may grant them access to the food and they may help themselves without any fasting person seeing them taking the food.[2]
And Allah Ta’ala Knows Best.
