I was given a fake note. Unfortunately, I do not recall from whom did I receive it.
Will it be permissible for me to give it to someone else as a payment?

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum Wa-Rahmatullāhi Wa-Barakātuh.
Giving a counterfeit banknote to another person constitutes deception, and fraud. Therefore, it is impermissible to give it to someone else as payment.[1]
And Allah Ta’ala Knows Best.
