Cutting of Hairs and Nails Before Qurbani
Answer
Muhtaram / Muhtaramah
In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāh wa-barakātuh.
It is advisable not to cut ones hair and nails before slaughtering an animal for Qurbani from the first of Zilhaj. This is clearly stated in the hadith.
If one did clip his nails and hair before Qurbani, that is not prohibited and he will not be sinful.
