Question: السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
If a woman is wearing a dress that falls just below her knees and leggings [not see-through but very tight] underneath, will the Salaah performed be valid? Sometimes, while going into Ruku or Sujood, the dress lifts slightly.
Answer:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum Wa-Rahmatullāhi Wa-Barakātuh.
It is Makrooh-e-Tahreemi to perform Salaah in such attire, as leggings expose the shape of the body. However, if performed, it will still be valid [but the person will be sinful]. A woman should wear a long and loose outer dress when performing Salaah.[1]
