Title
will it be regarded that the children also have performed the obligation of Hajj?
Question
If a family, that is a husband, a wife and two children both aged 18 years, and two children aged 7 years go for Hajj, and the Hajj ritual is concluded while with them, will it be regarded that the children also have performed the obligation of Hajj?
Answer
Muhtaram / Muhtaramah
In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāh wa-barakātuh.
If children under the age of fifteen perform haj, they will be rewarded. Their parents will also be rewarded. However, that haj will not suffice on behalf of the farz haj. Once they become adults, they will have to perform haj again if haj becomes farz on them. However, if a child attains physical maturity before the age of fifteen, then they are regarded as adults. In that case if they perform haj, it will suffice on behalf of their farz haj.
And Allah knows best
