Question: a) Can a Mu’takif give Azaan in the Sahan of the Masjid.
- b) Can a Mu’takif go outside the Masjid area(e.g. wudhu khana) to wash his
hands before or after partaking his meals.

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum Wa-Rahmatullāhi Wa-Barakātuh.
- Yes, a Mu’takif can give Azaan in the Sahan. [i]
- No, he cannot go out only for washing his hands. He can do it while he goes for wudhu or he can wash his hands using a container in the Masjid area itself.[ii]
Note: In some Masaajid, a provision for a small wash basin is made in the Masjid area whereby the Mu’takifeen can easily wash their hands without going out of the Masjid.
