Question
A Supreme Court of Pakistan during a case took notice of the fact that majority of the feed for chickens being imported into PAKISTAN comprise of PORK, the supreme court has banned the import of such chicken feed based on the premise that it will not allow anyone to force the people of PAKISTAN to eat something which is HARAAM.
My question in this regards is whether eating of such a chicken is allowed when most of the poultry farms are using such PORK based Chicken Feed for the chicks in their poultry farms.
Answer
Muhtaram / Muhtaramah
In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāh wa-barakātuh.
The Supreme Court should be congratulated for taking that decision.
Regarding the ruling of eating such meat, if the meat has not developed a bad stench due to what it was fed, then it would be permissible to consume such meat, although the ideal situation would be not to have fed it such feed at all or to have fed it good feed for a few days prior to slaughter.
If it has developed a bad smell, then it would not be halal.
