Muhtaram / Muhtaramah

In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāh wa-barakātuh.

There are numerous Ahādeeth which emphasise of maintaining family ties and uniting ourselves with those who cut themselves off from us. Your mother’s advice could be due to some personal problem between them. This should not stop you from meeting and communicating with your sister. It is your duty to have muhabbah (affection) and unite with your sister. May Allah create love and unity amongst you and your sisters and grant your late mother high stages in Jannah, Āmeen.

And Allah knows best
